Welcome to 581.

On this distant planet, four factions fight for control of alien artifacts left behind by an advanced and ancient civilization. The warring factions are Terra Corps, Scion Imperium, Neo Human Republic and Feng. As Earth lies in ruins, 581 offers a chance for a second Earth, but who will rule? Who will be the first to build a wormgate and transport their armies through that gate to conquer the Dust of 581?

During the invasions of 581, the factions established large interstellar bases to house, control, and deploy troops. These bases are known as hives. As a player, you assume the role of a commander of one of these hives, from which you deploy your troops in a bid for control of the ancient alien artifacts and supremacy over 581 itself.

Lost Empires is a card-driven territory control game with an emphasis on tactical movement and deck design. Each player chooses a faction to play and uses the cards available for that faction to construct an 18-card deck to go into battle with. Artifacts are earned by controlling objectives and destroying elite enemy units equipped with alien technology. Once you've collected enough artifacts, use them to construct a Wormgate. Whoever builds a worm gate first wins the war for the new sun.

The Lost Empires: War for the New Sun expansion provides players with all the content they need to play the game with a higher player count. Lost Empires can now be played with 3-4 players or in 2v2 teams.

Note that the Crown of Ashes Kickstarter Edition also includes the components for solo play (listed separately).
